17 people were arrested and 45 people were detained during the political genocide operations in Hakkari, Şırnak, Antep and Amed.

Unable to break Kurdish people’s resistance, the AKP government steps up its political genocide operations. 17 people were arrested and 45 people were detained in AKP’s operations in Hakkari, Şırnak, Antep and Amed.

HAKKARİ
Soldiers from the Haruna outpost located between Hakkari’s Şemzinan (Şemdinli) and Gever (Yüksekova) districts detained a civilian named Özgür Alp during a roadblock.

ŞIRNAK 
Soldiers detained brothers Nezir and Mehmet Doğan during a house raid in the Gundike Simo village of Şırnak’s Hezex (İdil) district and took them to the Anti-Terror Unit in Mardin’s Midyat district.

ANTEP
After a court hearing where they gave their testimonies, 17 people including DBP Antep Co-President Demet Paksoy, EMEP Central Executive Committee Member Mehmet Türkmen, and former HDP administrator Rışvan Deniz were arrested and sent to Antep E-type Closed Prison. The 17 people had been arrested during house raids on May 25 and 26, and were charged with ‘membership in an organization’ and ‘propagating for an organization’ because of the content they shared on social media.

AMED
Amed Chief Public Prosecutor Ramazan Solmaz issued a written statement on recent political genocide operations and stated that 42 people had been arrested over the past two days in the city.

Arrests went up in Amed right before the arrival of Turkish President Tayyip Erdoğan and Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım in the city.
