HPG (People's Defense Forces) Press Office has released a statement providing details about the actions by guerrillas in response to the ongoing attacks of the Turkish army. 18 soldiers were killed and 23 others were wounded, 3 heavily, in the most recent actions by guerrillas.

HPG said guerrillas conducted actions against Turkish soldiers whose operation in Mêrgezerê, Binbir and Gelîyê Dostkî areas of Hakkari is going on since September 27.

Guerrillas infiltrated into the area of soldiers near Hill Mergê in Binbir area at 09:00 on October 9 (today). While the action left many casualties, only 3 soldiers were verified killed here.

Guerrillas on the other hand ambushed a group of soldiers who were heading towards Martyr Rojhat hill in Mêrgezerê area at 11:45 on October 8.

7 soldiers were killed in the action after which the Turkish army shelled the area with howitzers and cluster shells. The action was conducted in memory of guerrilla Nuda Evin martyred in Geliyê Dostki area on September 28.

One tank was damaged as guerrillas conducted an action with heavy weapons against the Grana guard post at the border to Avashin area of Medya Defense Zones at 08:30 on October 9.

One other action by guerrillas targeted the Zivingê Brigade and security hill in Gabar area of Botan region at 10:00 on October 7. Two soldiers were killed here.

Three other soldiers were killed as guerrillas hit the Sawadiye hill in Şırnak's Güçlükonak district at 08:45 on October 8. Turkish troops intensely bombarded the area after the action.

Martyr Andok Team of Avenge conducted a sabotage action against a military convoy near Katine village of Amed's Kocaköy district at 19:30 on October 5. According to the newly verified information, 3 special operation members were killed and three others were wounded in the action which was carried out in retaliation for the attacks in Silvan.

Dersim - Ovacık and Dersim – Erzincan roads remain under the control of guerrillas since August 17.

The operation started by Turkish army in Mergê Zerê, Geliyê Dostki and Binbir areas of Hakkari's Yüksekova district on September 27, continues with intense airstrikes and bombardments with mortars and howitzers.
