Police forces carried out house raids in Erciş district of Van four days ago and detained 40 people for allegedly “aiding and abetting the PKK”. After three days in custody, 36 were referred to court.

After appearing in court, 16 were released on condition of judicial control and 20 others were remanded in custody for the same charges.

Procedures continue for the other 4 people in custody.
