26 soldiers killed in revolutionary campaigns of guerrillas

HPG guerrillas carried out a series of actions in Ağrı, Hakkari and Iğdır, which left 26 Turkish soldiers dead, 4 military positions, one shelter and panzer destroyed.

People’s Defense Forces (HPG) Press Centre released a statement about the most recent actions carried out by guerrilla forces against the occupant Turkish army in Kurdistan territory.

The statement reads as follows;

“Within the scope of the Martyr Pîroz and the Martyr Agirî Revolutionary Campaign, our guerrilla forces carried out a series of actions against the invading Turkish army on August 21. The details of the actions are as following;

9 SOLDIERS KILLED IN YÜKSEKOVA

At 07.50, the invading Turkish army soldiers were targeted on Elişêr hill in Hakkari's Gever (Yüksekova) district. In this action, where enemy positions and shelters were struck effectively from 2 sides, one enemy shelter and one enemy position were destroyed and seven enemy soldiers were killed.

At 19.50, our forces targeted the enemy soldiers on Elisêr hill for the second time. Two enemy soldiers were killed.

7 SOLDIERS KILLED IN ÇARÇELLA

At 16:30, our forces have organized an action against an enemy unit positioned on Meclis hill in Çarçella area of Hakkari province. In the action, where enemy positions put under intense fire, three enemy positions were destroyed and seven soldiers were killed. Following the action, the invading forces carried away dead and wounded soldiers from the area with Sikorsky helicopters.

5 SOLDIERS KILLED IN IĞDIR

Within the scope of the Revolutionary Victory Campaign launched in Serhat province, on August 21, at 03.20, our forces carried out an action against a Panzer-type armoured vehicle on patrol in the borderline of the Dilucu area of Iğdır. This vehicle hit effectively in close range, was burnt down and totally destroyed, and the 5 soldiers inside the vehicle were killed.

5 SOLDIERS KILLED IN AĞRI

Within the scope of the revolutionary campaign, on the same day, at 10.30, our forces carried out an action against an enemy hill trying to provide the security of Gürcübulak outpost in Ağrı’s Bazid (Doğubeyazıt) district. Five soldiers were killed in this action where the enemies on the hill were put under intense fire on three arms, and three were wounded. The invading forces bombed the area with howitzer and mortar shells following this action.

TWO GUERRILLAS MARTYRED IN BESTA

On 20 August, the invading Turkish army launched an operation in the Piro area of Besta region in Şırnak. Occupying forces bombed the area with warplanes and Cobra-type helicopters on the same day at around 12.00. As a result of the bombardment, our two comrades martyred. The ID information of our martyrs will be shared with the public when clarified.”
