28 Turkish soldiers killed in North Kurdistan

Fighting between the Turkish army and HPG guerrillas intensified in Hakkari region in the past few days. Today HPG released a statement saying that 28 Turkish soldiers are killed in recent clashes, mainly in Hakkari region.
HAKKARI
According to the statement, HPG guerrillas took action against Turkish military positions in Semdinli and Cukurca, districts of Hakkari province.
On August 31, guerrilla forces hit the camp of an undercover special unit of the Turkish army in Semdinli. Three Turkish soldiers were killed and 6 wounded in the attack.
The guerrilla units of Women’s Unified Revolutionary Movement also targeted a Turkish military unit between Cukurca and Hakkari city center. Guerrillas destroyed an armored military transport vehicle near Kanî Orê in rural Cukurca. 15 Turkish soldiers reportedly killed in the attack. Turkish army transported its dead and wounded in the morning with helicopters.
Same group assassinated a Turkish soldier on September 1 near Koordine Hill in rural Cukurca.
Koordine Hill was targeted in a coordinated attack the same day and mortars hit the soldiers trenches early in the morning. There is no information about casualties after the attack.
HPG guerrillas ambushed a Turkish army unit on September 2 and forced operational Turkish forces to retreat near Semdinli’s Sapatan village.
AMED AND SIIRT
HPG also stated that 7 Turkish soldiers were killed in Amed on August 29 when a military transport vehicle took a direct hit between Hiseti and Kerxe villages.
Also in Pervari, a district on Siirt province, HPG guerrillas killed 2 Turkish soldiers on an attack against a checkpoint in Osyan area yesterday.
