Heavy clashes continue in Şırnak’s Dicle and Cumhuriyet neighborhoods. Initial reports say 3 special operations police officers have been killed.

Keeping up the resistance against the state’s genocidal attacks for the last 10 days, Şırnak is under constant fire. In the continuously shelled city, clashes broke out between Civil Defense Units YPS/YPS-JIN and state forces trying to enter two neighborhoods protected by popular resistance.

For the last two days, İsmetpaşa, Yenimahalle, Dicle and Cumhuriyet neighborhoods are being bombed by howitzers stationed on the orbital road leading to Uludere. Several houses caught fire as a result of the bombings.

Clashes continued throughout the night between YPS/YPS-JIN and state forces trying to enter Dicle and Cumhuriyet neighborhoods along with the bombardment. Local sources cite at least 3 special operations police dead in the clashes. The ambulance activity in the night continued in the morning as 5 ambulances took wounded special operations members from neighborhoods to the 23rd Gendarmerie Border Division Command.

Meanwhile many military vehicles were spotted carrying ammunition to 23rd Gendarmerie Border Division Command over the Cizre road. Artillery and howitzer fire against the city continues while the neighborhoods are witnessing intense clashes.
