In Amed's central historic Sur district where popular resistance for self-rule endures genocidal attacks for 78 days, attacks by state forces are getting heavier in the neighborhoods protected by local self-defense units.

DİHA reporter Mazlum Dolan who is currently trapped in a basement with 30 other people had stated earlier today that nearly 200 people including wounded civilians and babies were trapped in basements across the district due to the ongoing intensified bombardment of state forces.

In the last message he sent, Dolan said; “There are 32 wounded people here and 9 of these are in critical conditions. There is no medicine, water or food. The civilians here call upon people to rise up and not to leave them alone. Rise up for Sur in the same way you rose up for Kobanê. Time for honour and dignity.”
