According to a statement published by the Press Office of People’s Defense Forces (HPG-BIM), most recent actions carried out by guerrillas left 8 Turkish soldiers dead in Şemdinli, 15 in Lelikan, 5 in Çukurca and 7 in Doğubeyazıt.

The statement by HPG-BIM is about the mentioned actions is as follows;

“On the 23rd of July, within the scope of the Martyr Pîroz and Martyr Agirî Revolutionary Campaign, our guerrilla forces carried out actions against the invading Turkish army. Details of the actions carried out by our guerrillas are as following;

At 03.30, our forces carried out an assassination action targeting a unit of the occupying Turkish army positioned on the Martyr Serhed area in Govendê area of Hakkari's Şemzinan (Şemdinli) district. In the action, one enemy soldier was killed.

On the same day, at 18.45, our forces carried out an action against enemy soldiers positioned on the area of Deriyê Pan in the Govendê area. In the action, an enemy container was targeted and the container was destroyed along with seven enemy soldiers in it. Following the action, the occupying Turkish army bombarded the area with cobra-type attack helicopters and carried away the dead and wounded soldiers from the area with Sikorsky-type helicopters. A fire has broken out in the area as a result of the bombardment.

At 17.50, our forces carried out a comprehensive action against the occupying Turkish army soldiers positioned on Lêlîkan hill of Sidekan area in the territory of Southern Kurdistan. 15 enemy soldiers were killed and many enemy positions were destroyed in the action where enemy positions and shelters were effectively struck from six arms. Following the action, the occupying Turkish army carried away dead and wounded soldiers from the area with Sikorsky helicopters amid the support of Attack-type helicopters.

At 18:15, our forces carried out an action against the Gêman outpost in Hakkari's Çelê (Çukurca) district. Five enemy soldiers were killed in the action while positions, shelters and vehicles in the outpost were struck effectively. Also, a military vehicle and a BTR type armored vehicle was damaged in the action. Following the action, the occupying Turkish army bombed the area with howitzers and mortars.

Within the scope of the Revolutionary Victory campaign which was launched in Serhat province, our guerrilla forces carried out an action against enemy soldiers positioned on Tepê Koviya, providing security of the Kozili outpost in Bazid (Dogubeyazit) district of Ağrı, on July 23. Seven soldiers were killed and five soldiers were wounded in the action where positions, tents, and the tower on the hill was struck effectively from three arms."
