4.9 earthquake in Kermanshah

An earthquake of 4.9 magnitude rocked the Qesra Shirin province in Kermanshah, Eastern Kurdistan.

The earthquake occurred at 06:47 local time at a 10 km depth 7 km from Qesra Shirin. There were no deaths.

There have been several earthquakes in Kermashah since July. On October 1, there was a 4.5 magnitude earthquake in the Taze Abad district.

On August 26, an earthquake of 6.1 magnitude occurred 6 km deep in Kermanshah. At least 2 people lost their lives and 230 people were wounded.

The most recent large scale earthquake occurred last year, and the mark it left is still there. In the 7.3 magnitude earthquake in Kermanshah on November 12, 2017 at least 620 people lost their lives and over 8.500 people were wounded.
