HPG Press Office reported that 4 soldiers were killed in an action by YJA-STAR guerrillas against a Turkish troop in the countryside of Şırnak province.

According to the HPG statement, the action by YJA-STAR (Free Women's Troops) guerrillas targeted a Turkish troop deployed on Şerefiye hill at 15:00 on May 12. 

4 soldiers were killed in the action, after which Turkish forces shelled the scene and surroundings with howitzer and mortar fire. The guerrilla action was dedicated to Jiyan Konak (Emgihan Gabar) who fell in a clash in Mardin's Dargeçit (Kerboran) district.

HPG continued, giving the following details regarding the guerrilla actions and attacks of Turkish military;

- At around 09:00 this morning, guerrillas targeted and hit a military vehicle after its leave from the Mamreş outpost at the border of Hakkari's Şemdinli district. While the death toll inflicted here couldn't be verified, troops at Mamreş outpost bombarded the surrounding areas after the action.

- Between 16.30 - 17.00 on May 12, guerrillas carried out an action against the Turkish soldiers deployed around Martyr Zınar hill in Oremar area of Hakkari's Yüksekova district. The casualties left here couldn't be clarified either.

- At 16:30 on May 12, guerrillas hit 2 Sikorsky helicopters on mission to airdrop soldiers on Leylak hill at the border of Hakkari's Yüksekova district. Both helicopters retreated after being hit with heavy weaponry.

- During the same hours, guerrillas also hit a Cobra helicopter supporting the Sikorsky helicopters that reinforced soldiers in Oremar outpost. This helicopter was also forced to retreat.

- The outposts of Oremar, Bêzokê and Mamreş at the border of Hakkari's Yüksekova district conducted sporadic bombardments targeting the border area of Avashin region in Medya Defense Zones on May 12-13.

- Between 05.30 – 06.30 on May 13, Turkish jets shelled Martyr Mazlum area in Zap region of Medya Defense Zones.

- Besta area of Şırnak is witnessing an intense drone activity on May 10.

- Since the beginning of May, Besta area is being targeted by bombardments conducted from Çelê Nımeja and Gundıkê Melê outposts, Şırnak Division and Çakırsu Battalion.

HPG said Turkish jets carried out an extensive air strike against Medya Defense Zones starting from last night, adding that details on the aerial aggression will be announced later.
