People’s Defense Forces (HPG) Press Office released a statement providing information about the actions carried out by guerrillas in Northern Kurdistan.

ŞEMDİNLİ

Within the scope of the Martyr Bedran Gundikremo and Martyr Nalin Muş revolutionary campaign, guerrilla forces carried out an extensive action against the occupying Turkish soldiers positioned on the Şikêrêsipî hill in Hakkari's Şemzînan district on August 18, at 17.40.

In this action where the Turkish soldiers and positions were hit effectively on five arms, seven positions of the Turkish army were destroyed while one container and one digger vehicle was struck. 11 Turkish soldiers have been identified killed in this action and four others have been wounded. After the action, the Turkish army bombarded the surroundings of the Hacıbeg water and the Dalambêr area with howitzers and mortars, and launched an operation in the area at around 11.00 am on August 19.

The Turkish forces which bombed the surroundings of the Hacıbeg water in the operation withdrew from the area inconclusively at 18.00 on the same day.

TATVAN

Within the scope of the Martyr Azad Farqin and Martyr Jinda Özgür revolutionary campaign, on August 18, at 19.00, guerrilla forces organized a sabotage action targeting the Turkish army soldiers deployed on Kotom hill in Bitlis' Tatvan district. Three Turkish soldiers were identified killed in the action, after which Cobra-type attack helicopters shelled the area indiscriminately.

SİİRT

On August 9, the Turkish army launched an operation in the area between the Erbılo and Gırdıka villages in Siirt. Conflicts took place between guerrillas and the soldiers partaking in the operation. The Turkish forces, using intensive technique, carried out bombardments in the area.

As result of the conflicts and bombardments in this area, three guerrillas who fought heroically against the Turkish army have reached martyrdom.
