7 fighters from YPG/YPJ, Asayish and Jaysh Al-Thuwar who lost their lives in Şêx Meqsûd, where resistance against gang attacks continues, were laid to rest following a ceremony in Efrîn’s Martyr Refîq Cemetery.
Bodies of 7 fighters from YPG/YPJ, Asayish and Jaysh Al-Thuwar forces were received from Avrîn Hospital in a ceremony attended by thousands from Efrîn and the surrounding areas.
The bodies were later taken to Martyr Refîq Cemetery in Şera district’s Metina village in a convoy of hundreds of vehicles. The martyrs were laid to rest in a military ceremony with slogans “Şehid Namirin” (Martyrs are immortal) and “Bijî berxwedana Şêx Meqsûd” (Long live the Resistance of Şêx Meqsûd).
The Canton’s Defense Council Chairperson Ebdo Ibrahîm, Internal Affairs Council Vice Chairperson Ferîda Ebdo and representatives from different institutions gave speeches and offered their condolences to the peoples of Rojava.
The speakers emphasized the importance of resistance and neighborhood defense shown by YPG and Jaysh Al-Thuwar fighters against the gang groups and stated that the people continued to display relentless resistance for honor despite the world being blind to the massacres committed by these gangs.
