According to the human rights monitoring platform Voice of Kurdish and Iranian Prisoners, Umid Reş, Azad Resulzade, and Nureddin Dudkanlu Milan from the village of Kose Karez in Mahabad were detained by Iranian security forces without any court order. On the same day, Muhammed Zend Kerimi, who lives in Sine, was also detained in a similar manner. Another Kurdish citizen, Keyvan Mam Guli, was also arrested by security forces.
No official statement has been made regarding the reasons for the detentions or the current whereabouts of those affected. Families and human rights defenders claim that the detentions are arbitrary and that legal procedures have not been followed.
A wave of arrests has been taking place in Iran in recent days. According to the same sources, at least 151 people have been detained on “security” grounds in Eastern Kurdistan and various cities across Iran in the last three days alone. The Iranian regime is frequently criticized for its arrests, particularly in Kurdish regions, which are based on unfounded allegations and without judicial decisions.
