In an action on a police shuttle bus in Amed, 7 people died and 27 were injured in Bağcılar neighborhood in Amed’s central Bağlar district.

Reports from the attack with a car bomb on the passing police shuttle bus said 7 policemen were dead. 27 people including civilians were injured in the attack which took place at 17.15, on the avenue between Hamravat and Gökkuşağı housing estates, behind Metro market next to Diyarbakır-Urfa highway.

In the attack on the police shuttle bus carrying special operations police from the western provinces, the police bus was wrecked. Reports say the police arriving the scene shot a young man and detained him.

After the explosion, several ambulances and fire department units were dispatched to the scene. The dead and the injured were taken to Diyarbakır Military Hospital and Public Hospital. The police arriving the scene set up a perimeter.

Diyarbakır Provincial Directorate of Health called all medical personnel to duty. Reports said that there were seriously wounded policemen among the hospitalized people. Nobody was allowed through the police tape around the scene as CSI units continued their investigation of the explosion site and the surroundings.
