The province of Şırnak which remains under an onslaught of Turkish military and police forces witnessed heavy clashes at 5 separate locations last night. An expansive action conducted at 23:00 last night targeted the police headquarters, Çakırsöğüt Gendarmerie Brigade, the military lodging buildings and police center in Tekser neighborhood ad the school operating as headquarters of special operations forces. At least 7 special operations members were killed and more than 20 others were wounded as a result of the action.
While the police headquarters was hit many rockets, an armored vehicle of Turkish forces was also hit and damaged. The aftermath of the action became clear in the morning after an intense ambulance activity that lasted throughout the night. Dead and wounded special operations members were retrieved from the scenes of clashes and taken to the military hospital in 23rd Gendarmerie Border Division Command. Reports also say that bodies of 2 YPS members were taken to Şırnak Public Hospital's morgue.
As clashes that erupted upon the action spread across the city at night, the neighborhoods of Bahçelievler, Yeni, İsmetpaşa, Gazipaşa and Cumhuriyet were bombed with artillery and howitzer fire.
