77-year-old woman accused of “membership to an organisation” released
The trial of 77-year-old woman who had been arrested in Varto for “membership to an illegal organisation” began today after three months in prison.
77-year-old Sisê Bingöl had been arrested after a raid on her house in Varto (Gimgim) district of Muş on April 6. The woman has been jailed since and her first hearing was held at the High Criminal Court of Muş today.
Accused of “membership to an illegal organisation” and “aiding and abetting an illegal organisation”, Sisê Bingöl has been released during the first hearing after three months in prison for the alleged crimes.
The elderly woman gave her statement in Kurdish through an interpreter because she doesn't know Kurdish.
