The HPG Press Centre has released a written statement regarding the actions by guerrillas and invasion attacks by the Turkish army.
The statement includes the following:
“As part of the Bazên Zagrosê Revolutionary Campaign in the Avaşîn region:
On August 2, at 09:45, our forces carried out a coordinated revolutionary operation against the invaders in the Martyr Canşêr Strait in the Werxelê area. The first group of fighters targeted and hit a military position where 5 invaders were stationed. 3 of the invaders were killed, and 2 others were injured in this military position. The second group of our fighters targeted and hit another military position where there were 3 invaders. The position was destroyed and 3 invaders there were killed. A third position was destroyed by the second group of our fighters and 2 invaders in it were killed. The third and fourth groups of our fighters targeted and struck a group of invaders who were hiding in the forest area at close range. The casualties of the invaders here could not be clarified.
Following the action, the invaders removed their casualties from the area in helicopters between 00:00 and 00:40.
In total, 8 invaders were killed, 2 invaders were injured, and 3 enemy positions were destroyed in the revolutionary operation carried out by our guerrilla forces reflecting the spirit of Fermandar Mahsum Korkmaz. This successful revolutionary operation through which the Kurdistan Victory Guerrilla dealt major blows to the invading Turkish state, was carried out to greet the August 15 Initiative, the National Resurrection Day of our people.
On August 2, between 22:30 and 23:00, Turkish combat helicopters were seen in the Qaşura area of the Metîna region. The vicinity of the villages of Kêste and Hirore in the Kanî Masî sub-district of the Amadiya district were bombed by combat helicopters.
On August 3, between 06:00 and 06:45, the Çemço area of the Zap region and Rênçbiraxa village were bombed with howitzers fired from the Turkish military outposts located on the border line. On August 3, between 10:00 and 10:30, Çemço, Sîda and Werxelê areas were bombed by fighter jets.
We suffered no casualties during these attacks.”
