8 soldiers killed as guerrillas hit Turkish units in Gabar

In actions by the HPG and the YJA-Star against Turkish operation units in the northern Kurdistan province of Şırnak eight soldiers of the Turkish army have been killed. There were no guerilla losses during the operation.

The Turkish Army launched a military operation on Mount Gabar in Şırnak countryside on March 21, using unmanned drones and attack helicopters, said the press center of the People's Defense Forces HPG.

According to the HPG, guerrillas carried out an action against an operation unit of the Turkish army on Hill Sipiviyan the same day. As a result of the action, two soldiers of the Turkish army were killed.

On March 22, Free Women’s Troops (YJA-Star) guerrilllas launched an action on the Military Operations Coordination Center on Hill Sipiviya, leaving six soldiers dead. The dead and injured soldiers were evacuated by military helicopters, and the army units had to withdraw from the area in the evening.

"We did not suffer any losses during this operation," reported the press center of HPG.
