People’s Defense Forces Press Office (HPG-BIM) released a statement providing information about the results of most recent actions carried out by guerrillas against the Turkish army.

The statement by HPG-BIM reads as follows;

“Within the scope of the Martyr Pîroz and Martyr Agirî Revolutionary Campaign, on July 28, at 07.00, our guerrilla forces carried out an action targeting the occupying Turkish army soldiers positioned on the Marty Gafur hill in Hakkari’s Gever (Yüksekova) district.

In the action, one position and one container were destroyed as a result of the effective hits.

On July 24, at 23.50, heavy clashes erupted between enemy soldiers and our guerrilla unit which was on duty in Omerya area of Mardin’s Nusaybin district. Our three guerrillas were martyred after fighting heroically and inflicting a heavy blow on the occupying Turkish army. The ID information of our martyr guerrillas will be shared with public later on.

The occupying Turkish army launched an operation in Kûna Hirçê area of Erzincan’s Kemah district. On the same day, at night hours, clashes took place. In the clashes, the number of dead and wounded soldiers could not be clarified. On July 22, at the morning hours, the occupying Turkish army airdropped soldiers on the area after indiscriminate bombardment which was carried out by Cobra helicopters. The operation was withdrawn from the area without any results on July 27.

On July 21, around 00:30, our forces carried out an action against a checkpoint near the village of Kıjılnehiz in Amed's Lice district. In the action, the checkpoint was completely destroyed and eight enemy soldiers were killed. Our guerrilla by the name Aram who fought heroically against the enemy forces in the action and was seriously injured, was martyred by exploding his own bomb in order to not fall captive to the enemy. Following the action, the occupying Turkish army carried away dead and wounded soldiers from the area with a large number of armored vehicles. When the ID information of our martyr guerilla is clarified it will be shared with the public.

On June 18, 2018, at 00.30 hours, the occupying Turkish army launched an operation in the area of Bektaş village in Amed's Hani district. There were conflicts which took place between our forces and the occupying Turkish army soldiers in the operation. The occupying Turkish army bombed the area with warplanes intensively in the operation. During the bombardment, our comrades Koçer and Roger were martyred.

On July 25, the invading Turkish army’s outposts and contras in the Bitlis' Şêx Cuma area bombed the area and its surrounding indiscriminately and a fire broke out in the wooden areas. The fire in the wooden area between Şex Cuma and Martyr Mizgin is still continuing.

On July 27, between 14:30 and 15:00, warplanes of the occupying Turkish army bombed Martyr Nuda hill in Qandil region of the Medya Defense Zones. We have not had any casualties during the bombardment.”
