Deputy Secretary-General of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), Barham Salih announced on Saturday establishing an entity ahead of the Kurdistan parliament and presidential elections, reported the NRT television based in Southern Kurdistan.
The entity’s political representative, Karim Bahri said during a press conference that the entity has been registered at the Kurdistan Region’s electoral commission. Accordingly, the entity has been identified as ‘Democracy and Justice Alliance Front.’
The Independent High Elections and Referendum Commission was directed on July 12 to hold elections of the Kurdistan presidency and parliament on November 1.
The Kurdistan Region’s political parties, not including the Change Movement (Gorran) and the Kurdistan Islamic Group (KIG), came to an agreement on June 7 to hold a referendum on the region’s independence this year on September 25.
