Guerrillas carried out an action in Giresun in response to the aggravated isolation of Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan and in memory of the recently martyred guerrilla commander Baran Dersim.
HPG (People's Defense Forces) Press Office reported in a written statement that guerrillas carried out an action in Giresun in response to the aggravated isolation of Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan and in memory of the recently martyred guerrilla commander Baran Dersim.
Guerrillas targeted a minibus and a civilian car transporting specialist sergeants and soldiers on the road between Giresun and its Tirebolu district at 15:00 on October 2nd.
While the minibus caught fire and the civilian car was destroyed with all the soldiers in it, a total of 6 soldiers including high-ranking ones were killed and 9 others were wounded in the action.
An operation launched by Turkish military in the area after the action was extended to the triangle area of Tirebolu, Görele ve Çanakçı with the participation of special units one day later.
TWO SOLDIERS KILLED BETWEEN ULUDERE-BEYTÜŞŞEBAP
On October 1, HPG guerrillas conducted a sabotage action against an armored vehicle and a truck loaded with munitions heading from Uludere to Beytüşşebap district of Şırnak.
While the military truck was completely destroyed with two soldiers in it, Turkish troops at Hedriş guard post bombarded the area with howitzers and mortars and 2 Cobra type helicopters after the action which was carried out in memory of the patriots martyred in Beytüşşebap.
CLASH IN GARISA
A clash erupted between a guerrilla unit and Turkish soldiers in ambush in Birika terrain of Garısa town at 16:30 on October 3rd. Guerrillas reached their base without suffering casualties.
POLICE VEHICLE TARGETED IN SİLVAN
Guerrillas targeted a civil police car outside the police headquarters in Silvan district of Amed at 11:30 on October 3rd. While the car was damaged in the action, number of casualties couldn't be verified.
ACTION AGAINST DELEZE GUARD POST
In another action, guerrillas hit the Dêlezê (Kısıklı) guard post in Esendere neighborhood of Hakkari's Yüksekova district on October 3rd. While the number of casualties couldn't be made clear, Cobra type helicopters shelled the area after the action. The day after, Turkish military started an operation in the area at 05:00 in the morning, which was retreated inconclusively two hours later.
SIKORKSY HELICOPTER DAMAGED
Guerrillas hit and damaged a Sikorsky helicopter of the Turkish army as it headed from Çukurca to Hakkari at 16:00 on October 3rd.
