Guerrillas affiliated to HPG (People's Defense Forces) and YJA Star (Free Women's Troops) have conducted effective actions in Hakkari, Şırnak, Van, Siirt, Bingöl, Bitlis, Dersim and Amed provinces of North Kurdistan, which left 16 soldiers and 4 police dead.

HPG Press Office provided the details of the most recent retaliation actions conducted by guerrillas.

HAKKARİ

As part of the Martyr Reşit Serdar Initiative, guerrillas carried out an action against the Radyolog guard post in Şemdinli district of Hakkari at 13:30 on September 23. Four soldiers were killed as guerrillas hit four sentry boxes and one military vehicle.

One soldier was killed in an assassination action by guerrillas against Hill Çete guard post affiliated to Bêsosin post in Şemdinli at 15:30 on September 23. Guerrillas also hit the building and watchtower but the number of casualties couldn't be verified.

In another action against the Gare Brigade in Şemdinli at 08:00 on September 23, guerrillas hit four soldiers and one watchtower. The number of casualties left by this action couldn't be made clear either.

Guerrillas hit a newly formed emplacement of the Turkish army and the post garrison in the area of Oremar village in Yüksekova distrit of Hakkari at 14:00 on September 23.

While the action started a fire in the garrison, the death toll couldn't be verified but armored vehicles were dispatched to the scene to remove the casualties left here. Turkish forces supported by UAVs shelled Martyr Bager and Martyr Afat areas after the action in the evening.

One soldier was killed in an assassination action of guerrillas who targeted Oremar guard post in Yüksekova at 15:00 on September 23.

AVASHIN

Guerrillas conducted an action with heavy weapons against the Grana guard post at the border to Avashin area of guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones at 15:30 on September 23, but the death toll couldn't be verified.

SİİRT

An action by guerrillas in memory of HPG member Martyr Reşit Serdar targeted the Gezer guard post affiliated to Siirt Commando Brigade at 18:10 on September 23. Six soldiers were killed and an emplacement was destroyed in the action which was conducted from two sides.

Following the action, Turkish army shelled the area with heavy weapons while casualties were removed from the scene with many ambulances and Sikorsky helicopters.

Guerrillas also destroyed a base station and internet network in Civinoki area.

VAN

In another action, guerrillas hit the Şaxe police station in Çatak district of Van on July 30. According to reports, Çatak Chief Police Officer was killed and one other policeman was heavily wounded in the action.

ŞIRNAK

Turkish troops at Kêtıre guard post in Beytüşşebap district of Şırnak shelled Martyr Kurtay Faraşin Cemetery and the area of Meydana Kolya at 10:00 on September 23. The same troops further bombed the areas of Deriyê Zervi and Kato Jirka the same day, which started a fire at the scene.

AMED

An assassination action by guerrillas in Feridun neighborhood of Amed's Silvan district left one specialist sergeant dead on September 23. Guerrillas also seized the arm and car of the sergeant before turning back to their base.

Three soldiers were wounded and one emplacement was destroyed as guerrillas hit the Gendarmerie base in Hani district of Amed at 12:00 on September 23.

BİNGÖL

Turkish army started an operation in Gulê village of Bingöl's Solhan district at 19:00 on September 22. The operation which is also participated by village guards continue.

An action by guerrillas from three sides targeted a number of military targets in Adaklı district of Bingöl at 22:30 on September 23. A number of soldiers were killed and wounded as guerrillas hit the security building, Brigade lodge and Brigade emplacements. Turkish troops shelled the area at random in response, as a result of which one civilian was wounded. The action was conducted in memory of Baran Dersim and the other guerrillas recently martyred in Dersim.

BİTLİS

One other action by guerrillas targeted the Gendarmerie Brigade in Hizan district of Bitlis at 22:00 on September 23. Three soldiers were killed in a clash that broke out at the scene as guerrillas hit the watchtower and armored vehicles. Turkish forces shelled the area at random after the action.

During an ID check on the road between Bitlis and its Hizan district on September 23, guerrillas hit and damaged a Sikorsky helicopter that came to the scene for intervention in the evening. Following the guerrilla activity which was ended at 19:00, troops at Hivris guard post bombed their surroundings where reconnaissance flights have also been performed since.

DERSİM

In another action, guerrillas hit the watchtower near the lodge of Prosecution Office in Ovacık district of Dersim at 20:15 on September 22. The watchtower was destroyed and three policemen were killed here.
