The Turkish state has banned all demonstrations and public events in Hakkari for one full month.
As June 24 draws near, the AKP-MHP regime’s fear of the voters in Kurdistan has started to surface. The government is trying to keep Kurds from voting with the moving/combining of the ballots, and now they have banned campaigning in Hakkari.
The Governorate statement on the issue said:
“With the permit issued by the Office of the Governor dated 31/05/2018 and numbered 2018/380, it has been decided that all public events will be subject to approval by the highest governing authority in accordance with legislation for 30 days including the dates of 01/06/2018 and 30/06/2018 and that demonstrations such as sit-ins, hunger strikes and putting up tent and stands have been prohibited in accordance with the same legislation for 30 days including the dates of 01/06/2018 and 30/06/2018 in Hakkari city center and districts.”
