Quarrel erupted between relatives voting for the referendum in Yabanardı village in Çermik district of Amed. AKP supporters wanted to cast votes in place of voters not present in the village, upon which a quarrel erupted between two brothers.

AKP supporter Hıdır Yıldız accompanied by his children used arms during the discussion and opened fire on his brother Avdo Yıldız and Avdo's son Şehmus Yıldız.

Both the man and his son lost their lives as result of the attack, and İdris Yılmaz got wounded.

Bodies of the slain civilians were taken to Siverek Public Hospital and voting has been suspended in the village.
