The time has come. If one heart can deeply feel the pain of another heart despite spatial distance, it means that it has taken the path of a meaning. Writing about you then requires understanding and not crying. You tell yourself that today is the day to embrace the earth and open the soul to immortality. For you know that it is not the end. Perhaps it is a new beginning. Death should not be feared. One should not be afraid of turning into earth, turning into something else. In such moments one should not be afraid of perhaps becoming a bird, a swallow, a dove, a stone, a tree, a leaf. It is the law of nature. I believe it is the law of a free life. It is the law of the guerrilla. It is the law of being human. It is the reality. And it is better to accept reality like that.
A guerrilla fighter from Serhed, with long pigtails, a beautiful voice and a rebellious attitude. So Ararat stood in front of me when I turned on the camera. Together with Welat Dêrik, another martyr of the heroic resistance of Heftanin, she was waiting for me under a tree. I ran to them with quick steps. "Today is November 27, so we will sing songs for the PKK and celebrate the foundation day of the PKK as a day of liberation for the Kurdish people. Don't you want to film us when we sing?", they asked. "Of course I want to film you. This camera is there for you, just to film you," I replied. It will always be there to film you and be at your service. At that time I filmed the song that they sang with great enthusiasm.
I remember this moment well: the tree they were sitting under, the rhythm of the song, the excitement in their eyes. When Ararat learned that she was going to go to Heftanin, she said: "Heval, I am going to a fertile place with seven colors, where the rain, the snow and the trees are very beautiful. I am going to Heftanin, does anyone want to come with me?" Together with Welat Dêrik, she picked up her bag and set off with a smile on her face. Her enthusiasm did not come by chance. It was not about the love of war. It was about the conviction that by fighting, she was contributing to a free life and would liberate herself by fighting. Now they have become a hero and a heroine who played a great role in the resistance of Heftanin, who fought a great battle and who took an eternal place in the hearts of their comrades.
This is the law of a free life and the two of them have fulfilled what had to be done for it. Sacrifice, heroism, willpower, determination, dignity and finally martyrdom. These heroes and heroines even decide for themselves in which way they will fall: Fighting, angry, still defending love, still considering the rules of a just and ethical fight. Isn't it heroism to not abandon one's confidence in every encounter with the enemy and to fight knowing that one day you will not even have a grave, and if you do, you will not be left in peace even in the grave? What energy, what power gives you the courage not to wait behind a rock so that the enemy passes by unawares, and instead to run away, to cut off the enemy's path, to ask him what he is doing on this ground, and to fight to the end? Guerrilla fighter Ararat mounted a resistance that tore the roots of the occupiers.
Ararat had already been in many guerrilla areas in the past, where she faced the enemy eye to eye. Heftanin was not her last station, it was the first station of immortality. She experienced the seven colors of Heftanin. She is the red glow of autumn, the green of spring, the white of winter and the yellow of summer. She has strangled the enemy with her plaits.
On June 25, she advanced in Şeşdara in close combat with the occupying forces, together with guerrilla fighters Esmer and Berivan. She stopped the advance of the enemy. The occupying forces are still trying to advance in Şeşdara. The resistance of the YJA Star remains there like a stone in the lungs of the enemy. May the path of these beautiful fighters be open.
