Arrest warrant for HDP MP released from prison 10 days ago

Arrest warrant has been issued for HDP MP Nursel Aydoğan who was released from prison 10 days ago.

HDP Amed MP Nursel Aydoğan had been jailed as part of operations against HDP deputies on November 4, 2016 and she was released on April 21, 2017 with a ban to travel abroad.

Diyarbakır Chief Prosecutor's Office raised an objection to Aydoğan's release and appealed to Diyarbakır 5th Heavy Penal Court for an arrest warrant to be issued against her. After a consideration of the appeal, the court issued the arrest warrant.

Up to 103 years in prison is sought for HDP's Aydoğan who is accused of “membership to a terrorist organization”, “spreading terrorist propaganda”, “opposing the Law No 2911”, “praising the crime and criminal”, and “inciting people to hatred and enmity and breach of laws”.
