Attempts to move the ballots where HDP gets high votes

The governorate in Şırnak has demanded to move ballots from dozens of villages that have high concentrations of HDP voters. A similar appeal has also been made to the YSK in Hakkari.

The AKP-MHP regime’s fear of defeat continues to rise. HDP voters are targeted due to the determining and critical role of the party.

The Hakkari Governorate had appealed to the Supreme Board of Elections (Yüksek Seçim Kurulu - YSK) to combine the 134 village and neighborhood ballots in 38 of the villages for the June 24 elections, and a similar appeal has now been made in Şırnak. The Şırnak Governorate recently appealed to the YSK to move the ballots in dozens of villages in the rural areas and combine them in other centers.

ALL PLACES WITH HIGH HDP VOTES

The governorates’ move shows that the HDP voters are being targeted, as the practice covers villages in Şırnak center and Güçlükonak, Silopi, Uludere and Beytüşşebap districts where HDP gets an overwhelming majority of the vote. The governorates are attempting to move the ballots with thousands of voters in various villages to the city center, some towns in the districts and large villages along main roads.

HDP Silopi district administrators met with the District Elections Board yesterday for information about the ballots to be set up throughout the city. The board told the HDP officers that the Ministry of the Interior is making preparations for such a situation, and that they will announce the information after the preparations are completed.
