The Representation of Northern and Eastern Syria Autonomous Administration in Sulaymaniyah organized a commemoration event for Ferhad Shibli, co-chair of the Executive Council of the Northern and Eastern Syria Autonomous Administration, who was killed in the attack carried out by the invading Turkish state with armed drones in the Kelar district of Sulaymaniyah. Families of martyrs, many well-known personalities, patriots from South Kurdistan and Rojava attended the event.
The commemoration ceremony started with a minute's silence and with the message from the Northern and Eastern Syria Autonomous Administration Sulaymaniyah Representation. Evîn Siwêd paid tribute to all the martyrs in the persons of Ferhad Shibli and Jiyan Tolhildan.
Stating that the Turkish state attacked the region with great savagery in order to cover up its economic, political and human rights problems, Siwêd added: "Dozens of civilians were killed in Turkish bombardments, as happened in Zakho and Til Temir. Civilians continue to be targeted and killed. And then on 22 July, three revolutionary Kurdish women were killed by a Turkish drone in Qamishlo on 22 July. Commander Jiyan Tolhildan and her friends Roj Xabur, Barîn Botan played an important role in the fight against ISIS. The Turkish state is trying to avenge the Islamic State by targeting influential figures who fought against it."
