In a written statement, the Autonomous Administration of Northern and Eastern Syria said that the recent attacks by the Turkish state have targeted public buildings, power plants, and strategic infrastructure such as the Tishrin Dam.
The statement underlined that Turkey's goal with these attacks is to halt public services reaching the people of the region, destabilize the area, and create a renewed operational space for groups like ISIS and other militant factions.
"Public infrastructure is clearly targeted"
The statement said that Turkey violated international law by attacking the Tishrin Dam, the Curniye Municipality, the Meskene Sugar Factory, and electricity stations. It said: "By violating international agreements that protect public service facilities, Turkey is committing blatant crimes. Such attacks are ongoing, particularly in and around Manbij, as well as across Northern and Eastern Syria."
"International organizations must halt Turkish attacks"
Condemning Turkey’s destabilizing actions and its support for local gangs, the statement said: "During this historic period of transformation, the peoples of Syria need solidarity. The international community and relevant organizations must urgently take action to stop Turkey’s illegal actions."
"Turkey aims to deepen the humanitarian crisis"
The Autonomous Administration drew attention to the fact that over one million people in the Turkish-occupied city of Serekaniye have been deprived of water. It stressed that attacks such as that on the Tishrin Dam, aim to deepen energy and water crises in the region. The statement said: "These attacks, designed to deepen the humanitarian crisis, must not go unpunished, and Turkey must be held accountable."
The Autonomous Administration saluted the defense forces’ efforts to counter Turkey's plans, and paid tribute to the martyrs and veterans of the struggle. It also expressed gratitude for the determined stance and support of the region’s residents.
