Kurdistan freedom fighters dealt heavy blows to the occupying Turkish state in many areas from Gabar to Zap, from Heftanîn to Xakûrkê in July. The guerrillas, who achieved great results in July, draw their strength and inspiration from the 14 July death fast resistance. The martyrs Herekol and Ekîn in Gabar, Benda, Destîne and Baran in Kato achieved success by showing great courage. In Metina, the martyrs Newal, Dijwar and Jiyan defended their sacred lands by not compromising their stance against the attacks of the invading Turkish army. Again, in Zap, they attached great importance to heroism and sacrifice under the leadership of martyr Sidar. From the first day they left their families, they fulfilled their promise and became the ground of success and the cause of revenge.
The occupying Turkish state is constantly committing war crimes against the guerrillas and the people of the region. War crimes are serious violations of the laws of war as defined by international agreements such as the Geneva Convention. These crimes include deliberate attacks on civilians, use of banned weapons, torture and many other attacks. The occupying Turkish army has committed much more. If only one of these attacks had taken place in another country, economic and diplomatic sanctions would have been imposed. But no law applies in Kurdistan. The authorities have only one law; to attack freely. The law of life in Kurdistan against this is resistance.
The occupying army has carried out more than 520 attacks on the Medya Defence Zones using chemical weapons, tactical nuclear bombs, banned explosives and ground and air strikes. It is known that the effects of these weapons are long-lasting. Diseases, destruction of nature and disasters are some of the effects. There is currently a war ongoing in the region and the Turkish army claims to be fighting, but apart from these crimes, there is no evidence that an army is at war. In Kurdistan, they are resorting to inhuman, dirty methods such as massacre, extermination, plunder and destruction. So why is this army not willing to fight directly against the guerrillas and why does it rely on such attacks? This is the situation experienced by an army that has surrendered to the actions of the guerrillas on the battlefield.
Guerrilla forces further activated their offensive wings against the invaders. In one month, 205 air and land activities were carried out. Effective actions were conducted, such as the downing of UCAVs and 2 helicopters. In other words, strong and effective actions were carried out in the month of resistance. These actions created great hope in the people, strengthened their determination and their resolve to resist. The guerrillas’ air strikes had a psychological effect on the fascist army soldiers because the guerrillas maintained stability in air strikes and overcame all security measures of the invaders. The other side of these actions is that they are strategic. The guerrilla once again proved the success of its strategy with its rich tactics and creativity. It proved the foresight of the freedom movement.
Gerîla TV documented these actions by sharing videos and images with the public. These images created an agenda in the local and world press. However, the occupying Turkish state did nothing but keep silent and tried to hide the facts. We know very well that they are watching these images from the newest soldier in Ankara to the commanders. Secretly, as a single person or group, they have studied the details of these actions. We also know very well how much they long for a self-sacrificing army that they cannot have.
The sabotage action in Metina, which made an overwhelming impression, took place in July. In this action, infantry non-commissioned officer Abdullah Cem Demirkan was killed together with his team. This person was in charge of the command centre of the invasion movement in Zap and Metina. In other words, this centre was targeted by the sabotage action. This is a coup that forced the Turkish state to make a statement at 00.00 midnight a few days later. The Turkish state did not claim its commander and army. This is a message that the occupying soldiers should also receive. While this state does not even own its commander, it will never own them.
