The Hakkari Governorate has extended the ban on demonstrations and events in the city for another 15 days. The ban has been in place since 2016, for 784 days now.

The Governorate cited reasons such as "the basic characteristics of the Republic, the indivisible integrity of the State and the nation, national security, public order, prevention of crime, protection of the rights and freedoms of others, preventing the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic, protection of general health, preventing possible provocations and social events”.
