Bread and transport in Van suffer new price increase

The war waged by the AKP-MHP government against the Kurdish people continues to negatively affect the lives of the people. As in all cities of Turkey and Kurdistan, new increases were imposed in bread and transport in Van.

At the beginning of June, 50 kilograms of flour increased from 380TL (13 euro) to 550TL (19.50 euro). The high increase in flour was also reflected in bread. The municipalities run by state-named trustees did not miss the opportunity and coveted the bread of the poor people.

The municipalities of Ipekyolu (Rêya Armûşê), Edremit (Artemêtan) and Tusba, which are governed by trustees, have increased the price of bread twice in the last 6 months.

The Turkish state, which condemned the people of Kurdistan and Turkey to poverty, has increased the price of fuel in the last few days as well as transport (+ 25 percent). The increase in tickets was reflected in a decrease in passengers, causing problems for companies.
