Freedom Action (Tevgera Azadî) Kirkuk City Organization Co-President Nevzat Bekir described the participation of YBŞ and HPG in Mosul operation as a positive step. Bekir spoke to ANF and stated that YBŞ and HPG have been displaying the most effective resistance against ISIS since 2014.

Bekir noted that YBŞ saved Êzidîs from a more destructive genocide with the support of HPG and YJA-STAR forces, and its participation in operations aiming to liberate the surroundings of Shengal was a positive development.

‘YBŞ AND HPG ARE THE MOST EFFECTIVE FORCES IN THE WAR AGAINST ISIS’

Nevzat Bekir said that the Iraqi Central Government’s inclusion of YBŞ in the operation was crucial because YBŞ represented Êzidî people who were harmed the most by ISIS gangs. Bekir described the YBŞ’s participation in the operation as positive and normal, and recalled the YBŞ’s protection of Êzidî people from genocide with the support of HPG and YJA-STAR.

Bekir noted that the participation of HPG and YJA-STAR in Mosul operation was necessary because HPG forces are a professional power that has showed heroic resistance against ISIS in Celawla, Maxmur and Kirkuk. Bekir also highlighted the HPG and YJA-STAR support to YBŞ in the protection of Êzidî people, and said that HPG’S participation in Mosul operation was of great importance.
