Holding a press conference following a meeting with an KDP delegation headed by Nechirvan Barzani, Democracy and Justice Coalition Leader Dr. Berhem Salih voiced his party’s concerns over the works of the Supreme Election Board which has no member from their party. Salih said they won’t be participating in the parliamentary elections in South Kurdistan.

Berhem Salih pointed out that the current situation in Kurdistan required unity and solidarity. He also refuted the allegations that he is a candidate for Iraqi president’s position.

Speaking after, Federal Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani said the Kurdistan Region parliamentary elections will be held in due time, on September 30. He added that no political party has asked for the elections to be postdated.

Barzani added that they will meet with the Gorran (Change) Movement in a few days and talk about the elections and forming of the new government in Iraq.
