A blast has hit a Turkish military convoy heading on the highway between the provinces of Dersim and Elazığ.

The blast occurred as the convoy passed by the Göktepe village of Dersim's Mazgirt district Friday morning. A number of ambulances have been dispatched to the scene after the explosion.

While Turkish sources report at least 3 soldiers dead, local sources say the number of casualties is much higher.
