A blast has occurred near a police checkpoint on the road leading to the Bağıvar neighbourhood 3 km from Amed city center.

Several numbers of special operations police and crime scene investigation teams have been dispatched to the area in the wake of the blast which is followed by helicopter activity over the region.

There is a police checkpoint at the entrance of the Amed city near the scene of the blast.
