Brussels Sit-In Demo Organisation Committee calls for joint struggle

Brussels Sit-In Demonstration Organisation Committee announced a pause to the demonstration until March 28 due to the massacre in the city. The Committee stated that AKP was responsible for the ISIS attack and emphasised a joint struggle.

Brussels Sit-In Demonstration Organisation Committee has issued a written statement on their demonstration and the massacre in Brussels.

The statement reads, “We have started a sit-in tent in Belgium’s capital Brussels on March 15 to bring to attention the AKP state’s massacres and oppression against the Kurdish people, protest the isolation of Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan and put the bombings of the cities and civilians in Cizre, Sur, Nusaybin, Silopi and other Kurdish cities on European Union’s agenda. Our demonstration is being held under the permission of Belgium police and relevant authorities.” and states the following:

'ERDOĞAN AND AKP ARE RESPONSIBLE'

“Dictator Erdoğan and the Turkish State’s related ministries have continuously targeted the sit-in protest as their true faces are revealed and they are exposed. They wanted to implement in Belgium the same fascist terror against the Kurdish people and have attempted every approach to stop our sit-in demonstration. None of these attempts were successful in the diplomatic sense.

As a response Erdoğan and the AKP state have pushed the fascist military groups forward to attempt to burn down the tent. Those who burned civilians alive have attempted to repeat the same mentality in the capital of Europe.

Erdoğan and AKP gangs, aiming to murder Kurdish people and force them into submission by supporting ISIS terrorists in Kobanê and other places in Rojava, are threatening the Belgian people and the Belgian government today. ISIS terrorists have sprung into action in Belgium after Erdoğan’s threats and dozens of civilians have died as a result of the ISIS attacks. Erdoğan and the AKP government are giving political and logistical support to ISIS, Al Nusra and other such terrorist organisations. Therefore, Erdoğan and the AKP government are responsible for the death of innocent civilians in Belgium.”

The Committee offered their condolences and continued; “As the demonstrators in the Brussels tent sit-in, we join the 3 day mourning of the Belgian people and share the Belgian people’s pain. We offer our condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in this inhuman terror attack and wish swift recovery for the injured. We hereby declare that we will be in solidarity with the Belgian people against all kinds of attacks on our peoples, starting with the AKP/ISIS fascism.”

'DEMONSTRATION TO CONTINUE ON MARCH 28'

Brussels Sit-In Demonstration Organisation Committee declared that they have paused the demonstration until March 27 due to the security precautions after the terror attack and state the following:

“Our demonstration will continue on March 28, Monday at 11.00. We call on all sensible, patriotic and democratic groups to join our demonstration, fight ISIS/AKP terror together, come together and be in solidarity.”
