Call for medical aid for Sheikh Maqsoud

Kurdish Red Crescent Heyva Sor a Kurdistanê called for medical aid to Aleppo’s Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood, which is under the siege and attacks of SNC and KNC gangs.

Lawyer Amed Davud from the Kurdish Red Crescent Heyva Sor a Kurdistanê spoke to ANF and called upon the international community to deliver medical aid to Aleppo’s Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood, which is under the siege and attacks of SNC and ENKS gangs.

'HEALTH CENTER STRUGGLING WITH DELIVERING AID’

Davud emphasized that the Kurdish Red Crescent health center in Sheikh Maqsoud has been struggling to deliver medical aid since the SNC and ENKS gangs intensified their attacks in February, and the siege of the gangs prevents the delivery of medicine and other materials to the neighborhood. Davud noted that many injured people died due to the lack of access to hospitals, and called upon the international community to deliver medical aid to Sheikh Maqsoud.

'WE MUST NOT STAY SILENT IN THE FACE OF ATTACKS’

Davud stated that the international community and humanitarian organizations should not stay silent in the face of attacks on Sheikh Maqsoud, and said that more than 100 civilians died and 650 got injured during the gangs’ attacks since the end of February.

Davud noted that SNC and ENKS gangs intensified their attacks since the announcement of the ceasefire at the end of February, and have been targeting women and children. Davud stated that the ceasefire has been clearly violated numerous times, and called upon the international community to mobilize against the war crimes of the gangs attacking the neighborhood of Sheikh Maqsoud.
