The people of Makhmur started rushing to the village square from 08:00 in the morning onwards for the funeral of three women and one girl who lost their lives in the Turkish state attack last night.

Thousands of people gathered for the funeral and the committee who came in to attend the funeral started to march towards the UN office.

“UN’S SILENCE IS CONCERNING”

The Makhmur Popular Assembly Co-chair Filiz Budak read a statement in front of the UN office.

Budak said the camp is under UN supervision and an attack against the camp is an attack against the UN, but the UN remains silent and the silence is very concerning. Budak called on international powers and Kurdish forces to stand against the attack and speak up.

After the speech the people chanted “Murderer Erdogan” during the march from the UN office to the funeral grounds.
