Civilian access banned to hundreds of areas in Şırnak

Civilian access has been banned to hundreds of areas in Şırnak province amid increasingly ongoing military operations across North Kurdistan territory.

Şırnak Governorate has banned civilian access to hundreds of areas extending from Şırnak city center and districts, including Cudi, Gabar, Heftanin, Kato and Besta regions where operations intensify.

Şırnak Governorate sent a notice to village headmen about the “ban”, but did not provide any information as to how long it will last.

In the meantime, the bombardment started by Turkish warplanes on Besta region in the countryside of Şırnak province yesterday continues. As the region is also witnessing helicopter activity, Turkish troops are shelling the area with howitzer and artillery fire from the Mount Namaz outpost.
