Action carried out on the police check point set up in the entrance of Hakkari’s Şemdinli district has led to clashes and reports say there are casualties from the police.

High numbers of police units were dispatched to the are following the action. The casualties were taken to Yüksekova Public Hospital with ambulances.

Clashes continue occasionally, and military activity has increased around Şapatan village in the district’s entrance.
