Numerous combat helicopters of the Turkish Air Force have been deployed on the settlements and villages around Mount Bagok in Mardin’s Nusaybin district yesterday. Shortly before that, the Turkish governorate of Mardin had issued a curfew on the village of Dibek (Badibê) as part of a broad air and ground offensive.
Citing local sources, Mezopotamya News Agency (MA) reported that clashes erupted between Turkish military units and the guerrilla forces in the operation zone. The summit of Mount Bagok was subjected to intense artillery fire. Also the uninhabited area of Dêrxirap, which lies in the mountain range of the Bagok, was massively bombarded by attack helicopters.
Following the announcement of curfew in Dibek village, there exists a de-facto travel ban in the rural neighborhoods of Girmeli (Gîrê Mira), Tepeüstü (Telminnar) and Eskiisa (Marîn).
