The popular resistance in Şırnak city centre entered day 59, after the “curfew” declared on March 14 marked the beginning of the state’s genocidal attacks. The heavy weapons stationed on armored vehicles raked the city throughout the night and Bahçelievler, Yeni, Cumhuriyet and İsmetpaşa neighborhoods saw occasional clashes.

There was UAV activity through the night and helicopters were flying low over the Gabar and Besta lines.

As the howitzer, tank and artillery fire started again in the morning, several buildings in Yeni and Bahçelievler neighborhoods caught fire after being targeted repeatedly with howitzers and tanks and smoke covered the skies.

State forces and YPS/YPS-JIN members are engaged in clashes on several positions throughout the city, along with the bombing of the neighborhoods.

There is also an elevated level of ambulance activity towards the military hospital and the public hospital since the morning.
