Heavy bombing and clashes continue non-stop in the areas of self-rule in Şırnak province. Several houses have caught fire and İsmetpaşa neighborhood has witnessed heavy clashes for the last 3 days.
As genocidal attacks of state forces continue for the 21st day, several houses were hit yesterday with artillery, howitzer and mortar shells in İsmetpaşa, Gazipaşa, Dicle, Yenimahalle, Bahçelievler and Cumhuriyet neighborhoods, where the heaviest attacks in the areas of self-rule are taking place. The town was blanketed under black smoke for hours and the bombing that stopped for a couple of hours in the evening started again around 02.00 a.m. last night.
With the bombings, heavy clashes erupted between state forces trying to enter the neighborhoods and members of Civilian Defense Units YPS/YPS-JIN. The fighting intensified in İsmetpaşa neighborhood still continues. Several houses in Cumhuriyet and Gazipaşa neighborhoods have caught fire and the fire department isn’t allowed to intervene the fires.
While several ambulances were dispatched towards the area of clashes, reports say several special operations members have been killed and wounded, but no concrete information has been received on the numbers.
Local sources report that the dead and the wounded have been taken to 23rd Gendarmerie Border Division Command. Bombings and clashes in the city continue.
