Kızıltepe Municipality Co-mayor Leyla Salman and Dargeçit Municipal Council Member Yüksel Oğuz who were detained at the same time as Sipçik will be sent to a court tomorrow with allegations of “protecting a criminal”.
After Kızıltepe Municipality Co-mayor Leyla Salman, Dargeçit Municipality Co-mayor Zeynep Sipçik and Dargeçit Municipal Council Member Yüksel Oğuz were detained on the way to Dargeçit over Mardin’s Midyat district yesterday, Salman and Oğuz were kept at the Anti-terror Unit while Sipçik was sent to a court. Sipçik was brought to Midyat Courthouse and the prosecutor referred her to the court on duty with allegations of “membership to a terrorist organisation”. After her statement in court, Sipçik was remanded in custody under the prosecutor’s allegations and sent to Mardin Closed Type E Prison.
Salman and Oğuz detained with allegations of “protecting a criminal” will be referred to the court tomorrow.
