Hearing in the case against Sara Kaya, Co-mayor of Nusaybin Municipality usurped by the State was held at Mardin 4th Heavy Penal Court on Tuesday.

Aggravated life sentence is sought for Kaya who is facing accusations of “disrupting the unity and integrity of the state”. She attended the hearing via video conference system (SEGBİS) from Van T Type Closed Prison where she is held.

While lawyers demanded Kaya’s release, which was rejected, the hearing was adjourned to September 21.
