Siirt Co-mayor Belkıza Beştaş Epözdemir was detained in a house raid in Siirt in the early morning hours. The reason for her detention is not known. She is held in the Province Security Directorate.

A trustee was appointed to DBP’s Siirt Municipality on November 17 and co-mayors Tuncer Bakırhan and Belkıza Beştaş Epözdemir were removed from office. Bakırhan had been arrested at the time.
