Şemdinli Co-mayor Seferi Yılmaz was arrested in Hakkari for "being a member of an organization" and Kayapınar and Yenişehir Co-mayors Mehmet Ali Aydın and Selim Kurbanoğlu were detained in Amed.
Şemdinli Co-mayor Seferi Yılmaz, who had been detained in Hakkari 3 days ago, was brought to court last night and charged with "being a member of an organization." Yılmaz was arrested here, and the 4 people including Yılmaz’s wife Pınar Çaçan, who had been detained during the same raid, are still being processed legally.
Police officers raided the DBP municipal buildings in Amed’s Kayapınar and Yenişehir districts and the houses of DBP Kayapınar and Yenişehir mayors this morning. Officers detained Kayapınar Co-mayor Mehmet Ali Aydın and Yenişehir Co-mayor Selim Kurbanoğlu, and seized many official documents during the raids.
Amed Governorate had given all of the authority of Amed’s Bağlar, Bismil, Çınar, Dicle, Eğil, Ergani, Hazro, Kayapınar, Kocaköy, Kulp, Lice and Yenişehir municipalities to district governorates on November 28.
