It is reported that corpses of 21 special operation police who died in clashes in the city center on different dates are being kept in the morgue of the Military Hospital in 23rd Gendarmerie Border Division Command. Accordingly, these corpses are of those policemen who died in clashes in Bahçelievler, Yeni, Cumhuriyet and İsmetpaşa neighborhoods during the past two weeks.
As YPS General Coordination provides regular details of the fighting in the Kurdish towns and cities under siege, and the deaths suffered by Turkish forces, it grabs attention that the state is not announcing the losses of Turkish military and police forces in an effort to hide the defeat it has been suffering in its dirty war targeting the Kurdish people and their living areas.
A most recent case of the Turkish state's attempts to hide the truth was the downing of a Cobra helicopter in Hakkari's Çukurca district on May 12, which the General Staff announced as having "crashed as a result of technical fault”. Yet, HPG announced that the helicopter was downed by guerrillas, and released a related footage two days ago.
