Fighters partaking in the Martyr Commander Abû Layla Operation launched on June 1, 2016 to liberate Manbij say the countdown for the capture of Manbij is now under way.
Manbij Military Assembly fighters say ISIS is employing new tactics but these attempts were foiled by the fighters in all forces under the Manbij Military Council umbrella.
Fighters Faysal Minbic and Yousuf Hemude partaking in the operation to liberate Manbij spoke to the ANF.
MANBIJ IS A VERY STRATEGIC LOCATION
Pointing out that Manbij is actually a city with a mosaic of peoples, Manbij Military Assembly fighter Faysal Mınbiç said the city was also in a very strategic location that tied the trade routes in Iraq and Syria together.
Faysal Mınbiç said they advanced towards Manbij on two lines from Tishreen Dam and Qereqozax front and liberated the predetermined targets one by one, but the fate of the operation would be determined by the resistance in and around the city center.
GANGS TRY TO ESCAPE
Also a Manbij Military Assembly fighter, Yousuf Hemude said the Manbij Military Council had gained control of many strategic hills, villages, hamlets and strategic roads in the liberation operation launched on June 1.
Stating that many gang members were killed in the villages and dozens more were wounded, Yousuf Hemude stressed that the ISIS gangs were suffering great losses and panicking, and thus the gang members were trying to escape.
WE WILL BE THE ANSWER TO THE PEOPLES’ DEMANDS
Yousuf Hemude said Manbij was a mosaic of peoples, and many peoples such as Circassian, Arab, Turkmen and Kurdish people lived in the city before the ISIS invasion, but this was ground down by both the Baath regime and gang groups like ISIS.
Yousuf Hemude said Manbij Military Council and its constituent forces hadn’t approached peoples and regions on a racist basis and that they will be the answer to the peoples’ demand for freedom, justice and equality.
Yousuf Hemude ended his words by saying they will shoot down ISIS gangs wherever they are and they would build the Democratic Syria to gift the peoples of Syria the free life they deserve.
